Kensley had her first day of school on August 11. All summer she has been so excited to turn 4 and then go to school just like Daddy. However, the closer the actual day got, the less excited she became.
She dressed herself (I decided it matched well enough) and had to bring her backpack. Since she is in preschool, she doesn't really need a backpack, but she brings it everyday anyway. They have a place where she can hang it up when she walks in and then picks it up on her way out never using it or its contents.
This is how I left Kensley on her first day. :o( She was very sad and cried and cried not wanting me to leave. She cried the second day as well, but on the third day she just pouted. Now, she walks in without hardly saying goodbye. She has made a friend that she talks about all the time. Now she loves school and is having a good time, but the first day was brutal.

When I Grow Up...
Kensley is always talking about what she wants to be when she grows up. The other day she says, "When I grow up, I am going to be a firefighter. And when someone gets hurt, I am going to hop in my fire truck and save them!"

I'm A Big Girl Now!
I am a little behind in blogging....Kensley turned 4 years old on July 22. We were at my mom's house visiting for her birthday party so she got to celebrate with some of her cousins. For months before her birthday, Kensley was always talking about when she turned 4. When she turned 4 she got to play with playdough again (another story) and she was going to school among other things. She was also constantly telling us what she wanted for her birthday....binoculars, bongo drums, and a hula hoop. I have no idea how she came up with this list, but she was determined to get them for her birthday. You have never seen a more excited four year old than when she opened the present and it was binoculars..."Now I can go exploring!" I won't mention how they only lasted ONE day before they were lost forever until Uncle Robert saved the day by buying her a new cooler pair that had a light on them for night vision. Here are a few highlights of her birthday party:
