Dream Home

On our way out of St Louis to get to Nauvoo, we found this home that we both loved and had to get a picture of it. There are a lot of trees, but you get the idea. I love this style of home.

Gateway to the West

We took the little elevator pod thingy's to the top of the arch and took some pictures of the view. Kensley loved it, but Stephen and Theresa found the whole experience kind of creepy. Basically, we are dangling in the air and have no business being up there! You even walk slanted when you are at the top! Very weird. We took pictures quickly and then got back in line to go down again.

St Louis Arch

Stephen laid underneath the arch to get this picture and Kensley laid down next to him.

St Louis Architecture

These are just some random houses around St Louis. I love to drive around and look at how people live and the kind of houses they have. I really like the red brick homes.

Little Italy

We flew to St Louis on July 23 for the first leg of our journey to see Mom in Nauvoo. Our flight was seriously delayed and our flight re-routed, but we finally made it at 10:40 PM. We spent the next day driving around St Louis enjoying the sights. The Hill is an Italian community that was started years ago. They have painted their fire hydrants in the same colors as the Italian flag.

Happy Birthday from Grandpa and Grandma

Kensley's turn the big 2 tomorrow and she received a package from Grandpa and Grandma Beals today. We were too impatient to wait until tomorrow to open it! Her favorite part of the present was the birthday card because it played "You are My Sunshine" when it opnes and she likes to sing along. She has been listening to it over and over and occasionally plays with her birthday presents, too. :o) Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!

Sensing a Theme?

I am so excited, I can hardly stand it! Me and Stephen decided that we each could buy something fun with our share of our tax stimulus check. It is our patriotic duty, after all, to stimulate the economy. Stephen has yet to decide what to buy, but for me it was an instant decision. The ORANGE Kitchenaid mixer I have been watching on ebay. It finally arrived the other day and I couldn't be happier. Honestly, I don't know anything about which is better, the Kitchenaid or the Bosch and frankly, I could care less. My only stipulation was that it had to be orange so Kitchenaid was the clear winner! I am now the proud owner of an orange car, orange phone, orange dishes and orange mixer. Pure bliss. Bread anyone?

Little Miss Fourth of July

I recently made this little dress for Kensley at a Relief Society activity. I was very proud of my achievement, but I don't think I will ever be able to duplicate the experience without help. Sister Peterson helped me every step of the process and I wouldn't have been able to do it without her. I was even able to make a second dress with my extra supplies for my niece, Sienna.
Kensley blowing a kiss.

Kensley enjoyed playing in the water to keep cool in this horrible heat of summer. Kensley did so good with the fireworks. I thought for sure she would freak out due to her hysterical reaction to my vaccuum cleaner at home. However, she loved it and kept saying "pretty lights" all night.
