Happy Thanksgiving!

Every night, before putting the kids to bed, we tried to write something we were thankful for on a leaf that we would add to the wall.  The kids loved it!

For Thanksgiving, I took the kids to Lancaster to spend with my family.  Stephen's family was having a reunion of sorts in Denver, but it wasn't economical for us all to go, so I just sent him.  My sister's family buries their turkeys the night before and then they cook all night.  This means we have to have a bonfire the night before Thanksgiving to get some really hot coals that will cook the turkeys.  We ate soup and enjoyed each other's company while trying not to get singed.

Spa Day
Shauna made the kids day by decorating their fingernails and adding blue streaks to their hair.

Pyper and Kensley had a blast playing outside in the backyard.  Pyper especially played hard.  She was filthy, but happy!

One day over the weekend, we went to Apollo Park for a picnic.  The kids had a great time terrorizing the ducks.

Me, Sandi, and Bobbi went to the movies to see "Breaking Dawn".

Happy Veteran's Day!

We headed down to the annual Veteran's Day Parade this morning in all our patriotic finery!  Later tonight we will head to the Golden Corral for Stephen's free dinner.

Happy Halloween!

Kensley was so excited to dress up as Princess Leia for Halloween!  I had a hard time finding the costume since apparently girls don't normaly dress up as Star Wars characters!  I ended up getting it online and only spent about $6 since I had a credit!  Can't beat that.  Pyper used Kensley's old Strawberry Shortcake costume and she was equally as excited as Kensley.  They love Strawberry Shortcake!  I had a hard time getting her to keep the hat on so she was a blonde Strawberry for most of the night.  Kensley was so schocked that everyone knew who she was dressed up as!  She thinks she needs to think up a harder costume next year.

I took the plunge and dressed up for Halloween, too.  I haven't done this in my entire married life.  I wore the clown costume my mom made me and my sisters and roommates a million years ago.

Pumpkin Carving

Kensley was so excited to carve this year's pumpkin!  When it came time to scoop out the guts of the pumpkin, you never heard so much complaining!  Kensley and Pyper said it was too gross.  Kensley finally sucked it up and got it done. :o)  While she was working on the pumpkin, she said, "Dad!  This is harder than First Grade work!"

Boo!

I made this  Boo sign a few weeks ago and I couldn't be prouder!  Stephen hung it by the door for me last week.  He also installed the nice chain lock on our door for me.  I have been so paranoid that Pyper will escape without us knowing!
On a not so exciting note, Kensley threw up Saturday night. :o(  I am so frustrated and feel like I am back at square one and don't know what to do about it.  This time it was almost 1:30 in the morning and I didn't hear anything until she was in the bathroom crying.  She was covered in vomit in her hair and all over her pajamas.  So gross!  I made her take a shower and stripped her bed and had to do a load of laundry.  All in the middle of the night.  Not fun!
