Every night, before putting the kids to bed, we tried to write something we were thankful for on a leaf that we would add to the wall. The kids loved it!
For Thanksgiving, I took the kids to Lancaster to spend with my family. Stephen's family was having a reunion of sorts in Denver, but it wasn't economical for us all to go, so I just sent him. My sister's family buries their turkeys the night before and then they cook all night. This means we have to have a bonfire the night before Thanksgiving to get some really hot coals that will cook the turkeys. We ate soup and enjoyed each other's company while trying not to get singed.
Getting the turkeys ready to bury.
Digging up the turkeys
The kids enjoyed playing while everyone worked hard to prepare dinner.
Thanksgiving Day Feast
Enjoying dinner in the beautiful outdoors. It couldn't have been a better day.
We spent the day eating and enjoying each other's company.
The Great Pumpkin
The kids enjoyed raking leaves in the front yard.
Spa Day
Shauna made the kids day by decorating their fingernails and adding blue streaks to their hair.
Pyper and Kensley had a blast playing outside in the backyard. Pyper especially played hard. She was filthy, but happy!
One day over the weekend, we went to Apollo Park for a picnic. The kids had a great time terrorizing the ducks.
Me, Sandi, and Bobbi went to the movies to see "Breaking Dawn".
