For a few months now Kensley has been obsessed with how things are spelled. She is always asking me how words are spelled and I have to say it one letter at a time so that she can repeat each letter with me. Recently she has decided she wants to write the words down as well and I think she is doing pretty good. She will ask me to write a word down and then she traces it and tries to draw it herself. She has become an expert at the word "duck".
One the other hand, Pyper is just a stinker getting into everything. If you don't want her somewhere, that is where she is. The baby gate wasn't up the other day and I kept telling Stephen that we couldn't let her in the kitchen or she would climb the stairs. 2 seconds later she went in the kitchen and I told Stephen she was going to climb the stairs so he reluctantly got up to get her and sure enough, she was already halfway up the stairs!

Nine Months Old - Sept 11
Pyper just turned 9 months old! It is hard to believe that she is getting so big and is almost one! We had a dr appt today and it was pretty traumatic for her. They had to take some blood for the iron, lead test, etc. She started screaming before they even put the needle in. She hates dr appts and cries the second I put her down because she knows what is coming next. It is so sad. We spent some time later this afternoon cuddling on the couch while she recovered. She is back to her happy self now. She is 26.2 inches (18th percentile) and 18 lbs 8 oz (45th percentile) and her head is 44.75 cm (73rd percentile). So, basically, she is short with a gigantic head! :o)
Pyper has been crawling now for a couple months and is also pulling herself up to stand. She finally figured out how to get back down, she used to stand there screaming until someone helped her get down or she fell. She also started climbing the stairs a few weeks ago so up went the baby gate. She loves to open my cupboards and pull out soup cans. She can see her reflection in the oven window and in the dishwasher door and is often found sliming her reflection and babbling. So funny and so gross.

You Say it's Your Birthday..
The old man turned the big 40 yesterday! Can you believe that I am married to a 40-year old man! Yikes!
We went out to eat with some of Stephen's Army friends and I decided to take a shower and try to clean myself up a little for the occasion. I had just gone swimming with the Activity Day Girls. When I was ready to go, I cam downstairs and Kensley says, "MOM, you look so pretty! Your shirt looks pretty, your pants are pretty, your shoes are pretty...ALL your parts are pretty!" Thanks Kensley!
