The Freedom Trail

We spent our first full day in Boston walking, walking and walking!  Our hotel had a shuttle to the subway station and we used that for transportation when we needed it and walked mostly.  It was A LOT of walking!  We spent the day walking The Freedom Trail.  We asked where we were supposed to begin and were told, just follow the red line!  So we did.  The red line on the ground is sometimes paint and sometimes red brick and we followed it all day to all the historical Revolution sites.  We were told it was a total of 2 1/2 miles and would take about 4 hours.  I don't remember how long it took us, but it was longer than 4 hours!  I had my fitbit on and logged more than 23,000 steps and 57 flights of stairs that first day!  We started here at the State House.

It was wet and overcast all day.  Typical Boston weather, I presume.  It was nice to be a little chilly after coming from hot Arizona.

Hot Days of Summer

Kensley and Pyper went outside to play with some neighbors.  It was overcast so the thinking was it wouldn't be as hot as usual.  Wrong!  This is what they looked like when Stephen brought them home.  I forced them to sit on the couch and rest while drinking water before they passed out!
