My Valentines

Valentine's Day Feast

The day started out with a breakfast of heart shaped doughnuts. Yum!
For Valentine's Dinner we had some yummy mashed potatoes, recipe courtesy of Paula Deen, roasted asparagus with parmesan and steak with balsamic glazed onions and a yummy homemade steak sauce, recipe courtesy of Rachael Ray. We had Cherry 7-up to drink because it is pink and seemed festive. :o)
For dessert we had our new tradition of chocolate fondue. It was very yummy and we stuffed ourselves. The favorite dippers were the pineapples and sugar cookies. Favorites of mine anyway. :o)

XBOX Biggest Fan

This picture was taken a while ago, I can't remember when. I just found it again while downloading pictures. Kensley loves Stephen's XBOX and always wants to play with him. She doesn't know how to play, she just pushes buttons. On this occasion, she sat next to Stephen to wait for him to let her have a turn and fell asleep on his shoulder.

Rules! Rules! Rules!

Stephen and Kensley were on the patio and he was trying to get her to do something and she yells "Rules! Rules! Rules! All I want is to be wild and free like you guys!" Those were her exact words. After we were done laughing we figured out she learned this sentence from Scamp on Lady and the Tramp II. Those darn dogs!

Two Months Old

Pyper is two months old today! She is getting so big and has her own cute little personality and funny faces. I can't believe it has already been two months and I can't believe it has only been two months! At my last doctor appointment, my blood pressure was finally normal and I was told I could stop taking the medication. Yeah! I hated that stuff! They also took some more blood tests at my appt because the last test two weeks before that showed some of my numbers to still be elevated (liver, kidney, white blood cells, you name it!) I got an automated phone call today from the office telling me to call a number to receive a message. I was instantly filled with dread because it is never good news for me when I get these types of phone calls. I figure no news is good news! I was proved wrong this time with a good message. :o) They said that my test results showed I was in the normal range for everything! Hooray for being normal! It is about time.
Here is Pyper pulling her Elvis face.
And we can't leave out the picture where she spit up on cue!

My Girls

We had quite the day with these two little stinkers! There was the usual spitting up from Pyper after every feeding and then later while I was holding her she decided to poop. This isn't at all uncommon, but this time it squirted out the side of her diaper and down her leg, all over my shirt and dripped on the floor! Very gross! I handed her over to Stephen who was in his bathroom cleaning the tub. He took off her diaper without a plan and without another diaper. I walked in on him holding her over the toilet and her peeing in it. Of course, some of it got on his leg and shorts as well. At another point in the day, Kensley needed to wash her hands, but refused to do it. I was occupied and Stephen gave her plenty of chances until he finally grabbed her and held her over the sink to wash her hands. She was screaming as usual when her obstinance leads to Stephen making her do something she didn't really want to do. She became quite hysterical and was yelling that he was choking her. He wasn't choking her, but I think with him holding her over the sink, her stomach was smashed against the edge or something because after he put her down, she threw up all over the place. It was everywhere. So gross. Later in the day, Kensley kept telling me that she had a splinter in her foot and I told her to have Daddy take it out for her. She said no and I kind of forgot about it because she tends to over dramatize and usually has nothing wrong. She wasn't crying or anything and seemed to be walking around fine. Later on Stephen was going to Home Depot and she wanted to go with him so he told her to put on her shoes. He went to help her and she started telling him that she had a splinter in her foot so he went to look, which of course made her cry because she didn't want him to touch her foot. He looked at her foot anyway and her white sock was covered in blood! He pulled off her sock, much to her hysteria, and there is blood all over toes and in between her toes and when he got a good look he discovered a piece of glass stuck in between her toes! The poor thing had been walking around with a very visible piece of glass in her foot and I ignored her! I deserve mother of the year for sure. Stephen pulled it out for her while she was screaming at him not to touch her, but she is better now. She has been talking about how he choked her all day and now this. Fun times!

My Ballerina

I recently enrolled Kensley in a dance class with the city of Mesa. It is a jazz/tap/ballet combo and is only 5 weeks long. Kensley loves the class once I can get her there, but usually cries the whole way there saying she doesn't want to go! Got to love the drama queen stage! She has lots of fun once she gets there and I always make her go no matter how big the fit.

Growing Up

I haven't been taking as many pictures of Pyper as I should be. This is the most recent pic's that I took last week. She is getting to be so big, for her at least. Yesterday she had a doctor's appt, her two-month checkup and she weighed 8 lbs 6 oz, 20 inches long, and her head was 37 1/2 inches. She had to have three shots and that was so sad, but she was easily comforted afterwards. Later that night she cried a lot, but is better now.
Dad and Pyper stayed up together through the night one night last week so I could sleep and this is how I found them in the morning. :o)
